Terms and conditions

Accounts

• Give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Tell your school or us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
• School admins are responsible for who they add to the school and which roles they give.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• Share exam questions or answers with students before an exam closes.
• Sit an exam for someone else or help a student cheat during an online exam.
• Try to access another school's data or a student who is not yours.
• Upload material you do not have the right to use, or anything unlawful or abusive.
• Attempt to break, overload or probe the security of the service.

Questions and content

Questions, exams and other material a school uploads remain the school's property. The school gives us permission to store, display and export that material only so we can provide the service.

Teachers are responsible for checking that questions, answer keys and marks are correct before results are released.

Automatic marking

Multiple choice and short answer questions are marked against the answer key the teacher provides. Teachers can review and change any mark before releasing results. The school, not Smart School, is responsible for the final results it releases.

Payments

Paid plans and fees are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Selcom or AzamPay. Access to paid features starts once payment is confirmed. Refunds follow our refund policy.

Availability

We work to keep Smart School available at all times, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Online exams save answers as students work so that a short outage does not lose their progress. We may carry out maintenance, and will try to schedule it outside school hours.

Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. A school can close its account at any time. What happens to data after closing is explained in the privacy policy.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions a school makes based on results in Smart School. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Tanzanian consumer law.

Changes and governing law

If we make important changes to these terms, we will tell school admins by email before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
